Soraya Isaacs is a well known, experienced professional freelance makeup artist with over 20 years experience. She was born, raised and educated in South Africa. Her love and fascination for make up started at an early age. She recalls her excitement watching the transformation of her mother and aunts as they got ready for a night out, of course her curiosity led to hours of fun and play, experimenting and trying out all these great pots of paints and colours. She remembers looking a sight but hugely enjoyable. Of course she has not stopped playing but the results are hugely better. Her love and passion for make up has never diminished.
Soraya’s enthusiasm was further encouraged when she worked as a model. She recalls pestering the make up artist and hairstylists on various photoshoots for information and advice on both products and techniques. Which were the best products to use, why one product instead of another, why use brushes etc. She remembers with fondness their patience in answering her, their help in fueling her ambition and their help in assisting her in her dream to become a working make up artist.
Once she immigrated she had the good fortune to work on a photo shoot with a makeup artist who advised her where to acquire a formal training to hone her artistry skills. She attended Complexions London School of Make up where her technical make up training began. She graduated with honors and started on her exciting an rewarding journey of working as amake up artist.
Soraya has worked as both a fashion and commercial make up artist.
Her magazine and fashion work has included Coca Cola, Brylcreem, Teachers Whisky, Ferguson, Umbro, Marie Claire, GQ Magazine, Lady Magazine and Sunday Times. She has also worked at London Fashion week, fashion shows for Vidal Sassoon, L’Oreal and Yves Saint Laurent.
Apart from her photographic work she has been fortunate enough to have worked on various large events such as Eva Longoria Charity Fund, Prince of Brunei Parties ,London Para Olympics, Bank of Tokyo Christmas Party and The Breast Cancer Charity Fund. Her celebrity A List include David Beckham, Lindsey Lohan, Eva Longoria and Faye Dunaway.
Soraya’s deep and abiding love for her profession has never stopped. She is still deeply passionate about make up. Her clients love her calm easy manner, her professionalism, her smiling face and her attention to detail.
Soraya is also a qualified and trained make up educator. She currently holds a PETALS. Certificate in teacher training, and wants to dedicate a major pa
rt of her career to sharing and imparting her expertise and knowledge to help motivate and develop new talent. She has also had many years of teaching at various London make up schools.
Soraya is currently in the process of opening her own make up school, so meanwhile she is happy to give private and group lessons. She also currently runs her own bridal and special occasion make up agency.
